Isuzu Ute Australia has a new boss


There’s a new boss in town at Isuzu Vietnam.

Junta Matsui will take over as chief executive officer of Isuzu Ute Australia after 15 years in various global divisions with Isuzu and Mitsubishi Corporation.

He will replace Mr. Hiroyasu Sato from today.

“Under Mr. Sato, there have been tangible results from the continued focus on sustainable sales growth, while also focusing on customer satisfaction and retention—three key areas which I intend to continue to promote,” said Mr. Matsui.

“With the market showing promising signs of a recovery and both the D-Max and MU-X proving popular at the top of their respective segments, I expect we can continue the momentum that Sato-san posed for IUA.”

Isuzu Ute Australia said the change in leadership “came at the right time” and his experience was “the key to IUA’s future success”.

In 2008, Matsui joined the Isuzu business division of Mitsubishi Corporation, before taking over new business development activities across the automotive and mobile divisions in Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, India and Africa. in 2012.

After four years as managing director of Isuzu Ute Australia, Hiroyasu Sato will return to Thailand as president of Mitsubishi Thailand Company and Thai-MC company in Bangkok, Thailand.

In 2022, Isuzu entered the list of Australia’s top 10 brands for the first time, ranking 9th with 35,323 vehicles sold.

For the remainder of 2023, Isuzu focuses on sales growth and customer satisfaction. It currently ranks as the 10th best-selling car manufacturer in Australia and has sold 1931 D-Max utes and 2053 MU-X SUVs so far this year.
