2022 Subaru BRZ, Toyota GR86 Limited Edition 10th Anniversary in Japan - distinctive aesthetics

Months ago, Toyota and Subaru worked together to develop a sports car, with the result being the original Toyobaru twins, namely the eighty six and BRZ. This year, both companies celebrate the 10th anniversary of the birth of the Toyobaru twins, since entering a new generation with the launch of GR86 and Second generation BRZwith a special variation called “10th Anniversary Limited”.

Both are currently available for pre-order in Japan through September 30, 2022, although Subaru explicitly states that only 200 units of the BRZ version will be offered. Meanwhile, Toyota only said that the GR86 version will only be available for a “limited time”.

The BRZ 10 Anniversary Limited is based on the existing first-class S edition and comes with a few special touches to make it special. On the outside, 18-inch aluminum wheels are painted matte black, the rear “BRZ” logo and door mirror caps are painted black and there is a commemorative sticker placed on the rear glass.

Inside, you’ll find “10th Anniversary” embroidered on the door tags along with blue stitching for the seats (with matching accent trim) and gearshift starters. The latter matched the exterior finish of the World Rally Blue Pearl, which was the hero color of the original BRZ at the time.

As for the GR86 10 Anniversary Limited, it’s based on the top RZ level and features the same Flame Orange exterior as the original 86, along with the same details as the rear glass stickers, matching stitching and accents. furniture as well as embroidered door cards.

The powertrain is unchanged for both cars, so there’s still a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder producing 235 hp (232 hp) and 250 lb-ft of torque. Nm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential and a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
