Bokeh Powerhouse: Sony 135mm f/1.8 . lens review

85mm lenses are traditionally the focal length of choice for portraiture, but on the other hand, they’re certainly not the only option. The 135mm lens has long been a popular alternative, and there are several high-quality options available, such as the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM. This excellent video review looks at the lens, its performance, and image quality, as well as what makes it unique among other premium portrait options.

Coming to you from Manny OrtizThis great video review will look at Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM . Lens. I’ve always had a soft spot for 135mm lenses. My first premium lens was the Canon EF 135mm f/2L, and it’s been a staple in my bag for over a decade now. The 135mm lens offers slightly more telephoto compression than the 85mm lenses, can be nicer on facial features, and can create more subject isolation. On the other hand, the drawback of 135mm lenses is that they have a longer working distance. While this is normally not an issue outdoors, it can be a bit tricky if you’re working in a smaller studio. Sony’s version is part of their well-respected G Master series, and as such, you can expect excellent performance, with sharp images, deep contrasts, and smooth bokeh. Check out the video above for a full rundown from Ortiz.
