Price and specifications of LDV T60 Max Plus 2024: Chinese cars receive major upgrades in technology and safety

The LDV T60 The ute has received a significant facelift, bringing with it a new interior, more tech, a different suspension and finally automatic emergency braking.

Called 2024 LDV T60 Max PlusThe ute slots have been overhauled above the existing T60 Max range.

It is priced from $45,990 drive away for those with an Australian Business Number (ABN) in manual form, with the car costing an additional $2000. LDV is also offering a Mega Tub version, priced $49,490 drive away for ABN holders.

Under the skin remains the same 2.0 liters four cylinders twin turbo diesel engine like the T60 Max model, production 160kW power and 500Nm of torque, although LDV says it has remapped the engine software “to ensure more linear power delivery”.

The T60 Max’s leaf spring rear suspension has been replaced with a multi-link setup which LDV says offers better control, a more comfortable ride and higher payload and ground clearance. .

Load capacity is 800kg in T60 Max Plus Mega Tub, 840kg in T60 Max Plus manual and 830kg in T60 Max Plus automatic. That’s an increase from the Luxe and Mega Tub versions of the regular T60 Max, which weigh between 730kg and 750kg. Ground clearance is up to 5mm to 220mm.

Electric power steering is also new on the T60 range, with selectable Standard and Sport modes, as well as an electric parking brake.

The T60 Max Plus heralds the long-awaited arrival of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) in LDV’s ute range, making Mahindra the only brand not to offer the feature in this segment.

However, the manual version does not have AEB, nor does adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. All three are standard on automatic models.

Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system – up from the 10.25-inch screen on the T60 Max and now with Android Auto – along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

They are in the same cluster for an overview and the infotainment system uses the new operating system.

However, the LDV isn’t simply stuck with a larger screen, the interior also receives a fundamentally new look. There’s a new, more driver-focused dashboard and, on auto models, a column-mounted gear lever.

This has allowed LDV to angle the center console upwards on the car models, with a wireless charging pad above and a new storage compartment below. LDV has not released interior images of the T60 Max Plus manual.

There are three USB ports up front, while the LDV promises a quieter interior thanks to additional sound insulation between the engine and bulkhead.

The T60 Max Plus line builds on the T60 Max Luxe in terms of standard equipment, including equipment such as leather seats, heated front seats and a surround-view camera.

Also joining the equipment list are features such as a lockable rear door and heated, power-folding exterior mirrors.

Externally, it differentiates itself from older T60 Max models with gloss black trim on parts such as the grille, door handles and exterior mirrors.

Size

Unbraked and braked towing figures are 750kg and 3000kg respectively across the T60 Max Plus range, the same as the T60 Max.

Service and warranty

LDV T60 Max Plus is supported by seven years, 200,000 km warranty.

Safety

The LDV T60 series has a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, based on testing carried out in 2017. This rating will expire at the end of this year.

Standard safety equipment includes:
