We are living in quite fortunate times. Konami is ready to deliver the original Suikoden game and its sequel back through Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and the Dunan Unification War. Rabbit and Bear Studio releases a spiritual successor Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. We felt this would be the perfect time for all of us to share our interests Suikoden items and notes which games we would most recommend and consider best for newcomers.
Suikoden 2 is probably the best known game, but I advise you not to skip the first one. It’s interesting to see how a game series evolves over time, but honestly, it’s also just a very playable game for its age and the story is pretty good too. –Elliot
I will tell Suikoden 3 To be Suikoden game everyone should play. Partly because Elliot suggested it Suikoden 2, is also competing for best game in the series. However, Suikoden 2 very tied to the original game, with many overlapping characters. Suikoden 3 is interesting because we get to see the larger stories of the three different main characters, as well as some smaller stories from the other secondary main characters. This is a very solid game and having you choose who gets the True Rune initially and choose your main character as all the stories come together is so much fun! — Jenni
