If you’re using iOS 14 or earlier, go here Setting and tap your name, then tap Find mine And off Find my iPhone. Clap Apple ID at the top left, go back and scroll to the bottom to tap Log out. You will have to enter your password and press Log out again.
Now you are ready to erase your iPhone. Go Settings > General and scroll down Switch or reset iPhone. Clap Erase all content and settings. You will be asked to confirm and it may take a few minutes to complete the process.
How to factory reset your Android phone
Start with Backup your Android phone, then remove any MicroSD cards and your SIM cards. Remember to use the backup function in specific apps (like WhatsApp) and transfer codes from apps like Google Authenticator.
Android has an anti-theft measure called Factory Reset Protection (FRP). That means even after you erase your Android phone, you still need to sign in to your Google account one last time to set it up again. It should only work if you Use the recovery menu to erase your phone, but here’s how to disable FRP. Delete your Google account (we recommend deleting all your accounts at once). Different Android manufacturers have slightly different menus so your options may vary.
On Google Pixel, you can do this in Setting By typing Password and account. Select each one in turn and press Delete account. On Samsung Galaxy, go to Setting and choose Accounts and backupsLater Account management. Select each one in turn and press Delete account.
You can now erase your Android phone, but the process also differs slightly depending on your phone manufacturer. On a Google Pixelfor example, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset) > Erase all data (you will need to enter your PIN) and finally Delete all data again.
On a Samsung Galaxygo Settings > General Management > Resetand choose Reset factory data. Scroll to the bottom and tap ReinstallLater Remove all (you may need to enter your Samsung account details).
Other Android phones will have options similar to what we’ve listed here, but if you can’t find them, visit the manufacturer’s website for instructions.
