Amazon credit card with new look, new name and new benefits
Chase just released refreshed versions of both of its Amazon credit cards, including a new name, a new look, and most importantly, new benefits.
Here’s what you need to know about these Amazon card updates.
Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card
In addition to the new look, the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card has a new name: Prime Visa.
It also now earns 5% on purchases made through Chase Travel and 2% on local transit and travel, including rideshare. Plus, you’ll now be able to earn, view, and redeem the rewards you earn on your card daily instead of monthly.
Annual fee: $0, but requires a Prime membership ($139 per year).
Welcome offer: New cardholders receive a $150 Amazon gift card and can earn 5% back on all purchases, up to $2,500, for three months after account opening.
Income:
- 5% cashback at Amazon and Whole Foods Market.
- 5% cashback on purchases through Chase Travel (new).
- 2% back at restaurants.
- 2% return at gas stations.
- 2% cashback on public transport and local transportation, including carpooling (new).
- 1% cashback on all other purchases.
You’ll also get benefits like baggage delay insurance and coverage with your Prime Visa card.

The usual Amazon Rewards Visa Signature card is also being glowed. Now simply called Amazon Visa, it earns 3% on purchases made through Chase Travel and 2% on local transit and travel, including rideshares. These are additions to the existing income structure.
And, like its Prime sibling, you’ll now be able to earn, view, and redeem the rewards you earn on your card daily instead of monthly.
Annual fee: $0 (no Prime membership required)
Welcome offer: New cardholders receive a $60 Amazon gift card and can earn 3% back on all purchases, up to $1,500, for three months after opening an account.
Income:
- 3% cashback at Amazon, Whole Foods Market.
- 2% Cashback on purchases through Chase Travel (new).
- 2% back at restaurants and gas stations.
- 2% cashback on public transport and local transportation, including carpooling (new).
- 1% cashback on all other purchases.
You’ll also get the same benefits as baggage delay insurance and purchase protection with your Amazon Visa card.

Who will get one of the new Amazon cards?
If you spend a significant portion of your budget at Amazon and Whole Foods and want cashback rewards, both Prime Visa and Amazon Visa are good card options for you. Plus, Prime Visa’s welcome offer is worth up to $275, which is pretty decent for a cash-back card.
However, this is not the only card that earns bonus rewards on eat and drink And carpooling. And if you want to earn more valuable travel rewards, you better use one of our favorite travel card.
