It’s been a full weekend of boxing here as October kicks into November. And, even though it’s a novelty match, it’s hard not to be hooked by the Jake Paul combination. and Anderson Silva. Paul, like it or not, takes boxing very seriously. On the other hand, Silva is a UFC legend who also has a background in professional boxing. Another big showdown of the weekend. however, also very attractive. Katie Taylor, along with Claressa Shields, the first name in women’s boxing, means she’s always worth a look. And Vasyl Lomachenko? There hasn’t been a single match in this man’s professional career that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Undoubtedly, Lomachenko is expected to win tonight as he battles undefeated Jamaine Ortiz in a 12-round lightweight bout scheduled at the Theater in Madison Square Garden. If 16-2 Ukraine is the best 16-0-1 USA, he could be on his way to face Devin Haney in a big game by any standards, with the lightweight world championship uncontested. controversy is under threat. However, if Ortiz deals with sadness – then he will quickly find himself a toast to the fighting world. The Lomachenko-Ortiz live broadcast will begin at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+. Looks like they decided to show the entire battle card in a single broadcast here, something odd in the ESPN universe.

In fact, if you want to do a boxing day, you can start at 2pm ET. That’s when DAZN will hand out Taylor-Carbajal cards. Undisputed 21-0 lightweight champion Taylor was clearly expected to beat Argentina’s Carbajal after the opening bell rang in London’s Wembley Area, but that’s by no means a surprise may not happen. Either way, Carbajal is undefeated, boasting a 19-0 record. She is also 36 years younger than Taylor by about four years, so one never knows how this scheduled 10-year love affair might play out.

Ultimately, though many serious fans may shake their heads, there’s no doubt that Jake Paul’s 5-0 fight with former UFC legend Anderson Silva is the main source of boxing attention this weekend. In this case, that’s not a bad thing at all. Paul has shown he really has some talent while Silva can boast of being one of the greatest combat sports practitioners in history. Furthermore, Silva has a strong background in boxing and has been looking pretty good since his return to the ring in 2021. If the 47-year-old is not at his best tonight, Silva has would stop – as long as, of course, Paul didn’t turn off the lights with his powers. Needless to say, the Paul-Silva card will be live on Showtime pay per view starting at 9pm ET.
