New York’s biggest amateur competition,” and New York City with a history of showcasing action-packed boxing and future superstars to greet crowds from all walks of life. . “Definitely, this year’s Tournament will be an event that returns to the form of USA Boxing Metro. This year the Tournament will take place in and around the city. This is a far cry from last year or 2020 when Covid cut the Tournament short. “We reopened last year, and it was very good. Lamonakis says we’ve tested for Covid in every tournament. “In the beginning, it was a bit difficult to find boxers.” However, even in times of pandemic, boxers still compete with each other. “By the time they opened,” she said, everyone had been vaccinated. With that in mind, Boxing Metro is looking forward to the schedule of this year’s Tournament.

“I would say this is really our third year,” said Lamonakis. “We just started signing up. We have 14 events scheduled at various locations.” Lamonakis goes on to point out that there will be “double elimination for the open class.” Moreover, the Tournament will bring more opportunities to the participants this year. “We’re going to be providing a new division for our league,” Lamonakis said, “because we don’t want to frustrate anyone.” After a rough couple of years, it looks like things are finally starting to run smoothly. “We are expecting a large turnout. We again have a lot of active members,” said Lamonakis. “We also stream Smoker Talk with Ticketlyfe.com. All shows will be streamed.” Price? $9.99, definitely not bad in an expensive pay-per-view world.

In addition to a return to New York, the Tournament will wrap up on one of the city’s biggest weekends. “Our final will be in June, MSG again,” said Lamonakis. “We often coincide with the Puerto Rico Day parade.” Of course, the Tournament offers an opportunity not only for the contestants but also for those interested in watching the big names of the future make their mark on the ring for the first time.
