The six-cylinder Ram 1500 RHO delivers more power per tank than any off-road sport truck.

Dam has added another sport truck to its off-road lineup, but the 2025 Ram 1500 The RHO, nicknamed “the rhino,” is certainly more than just 8 inches wide Ram rebelled with a more powerful inline 6 engine. It is a truck specially developed for serious operations topographic wanderer, and it serves as a substitute for the V8 TRX is now dead.

Now, I know you’re thinking, “But Jalopnik, isn’t Ram’s lineup already terrible with powerful sport trucks?” and you are right! But as of now, none of them are equipped with the 3.0-liter turbocharged Hurricane High Output inline engine, which produces 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. This beefy truck is a sibling to the Ram 1500 Classic Warlock and Ram 1500 Rebel, and at $69,995, it tops the off-road class. That’s $129.60 per horse.

Of course, anyone looking for a Rebel right now knows that it’s nearly impossible to get one near its $64,490 starting price, and that’s with an inline six-cylinder engine that only makes 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft.

The RHO can tow 8,380 pounds with a maximum payload of 1,520 pounds. With 32 inches of wading ability, this truck almost doubles as a makeshift boat, and with 11.8 inches of ground clearance, the RHO is 2 inches taller than the rest of the models thanks to its 35-inch tires extremely interesting. The RHO will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and 0 to 100 mph in 11.7 seconds and you reach a top speed of 118 mph. Do you need that in an off-road truck? Sure is not! But you’re getting it. You also get the usual range of riding modes, with a special Baja mode for tearing up dunes at a fast pace.

And there’s a big hood duct that lights up as if you could land a plane on it in thick fog. You can not miss it. This isn’t just for show; vents draw in air to aid combustion, with a high-capacity radial air filter keeping all that fresh air fresh. The transparent RAM badge and airy grille also aim to keep the engine running at maximum capacity. It’s an easy-to-clean cone-shaped filter that owners can remove dust and rocks while on the road. When that air finishes its journey through the engine and exits the RHO’s exhaust, it has a distinct growl thanks to the “Sport Tune” low restriction system with true dual exhaust pipes.

The truck is also equipped with some real off-road technology that makes the Rhino a parking lot queen. High-strength aluminum is used throughout the guts of the RHO, creating a lighter, more efficient and stronger vehicle. You can especially see the use of this material in the independent front suspension, especially in the desert racer-inspired upper and lower front control arms. Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shock absorbers keep your ride smooth and comfortable whether on rocks, sand or daily commuting and lots of movement. The rear axle has 14 inches of space to use – 40 percent more than any other 1500 – but without sacrificing cargo space.

Inside, you’ll find sports seats that hug the driver and passenger like their father never could. Of course there are the requisite screens: a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster in front of the driver, a 14.5-inch screen in the middle running Uconnect 5, and another 10.25-inch screen for the passenger can scroll through apps and the Internet while shooting. Ram boasts that it’s the best screen count in the segment. Not entirely sure that more screens = better car, but the RHO also comes with “redundant” HVAC buttons, so at least you can heat up and cool down without navigating menus and touching screen. Not only that, the RHO has a full-color head-up display, and it also has all the driver assistance features you could want (if you even want it) with features like lane centering and lane control. adaptive cruise control.

Orders opened on Thursday for the US market, and you can expect the tire to hit the roads by the third quarter of this year, but you’ll probably have to wait in line to get one.
