When you get on a plane, there are a lot of things that you can reasonably expect could go wrong. The person in front of you can recline their seats and hang their long hair on display. A baby can cry. The person sitting next to you might be one Sick people take off their socks and shoes. Heck, you even can encountered some terrible upheavals. Then there are the things you could never expect, like 70 passengers all suffering from the same stomach bug and turning your flight into a vomit tube from hell.

The Daily mail report that a large number of passengers on Condor Airlines flight DE2315 from Mauritius to Frankfurt appeared to suffer from the same stomach illness. With only a few bathrooms and 70 passengers needing to vomit, you can only imagine how terrible the rest of the flight was. However, they were apparently close enough to their destination that they simply kept going until they reached Frankfurt, where emergency personnel had gathered to treat sick passengers.

If you go on a cruise, you have to be aware of the risk of a norovirus or COVID outbreak, but at least on a cruise you can just stay in your cabin and vomit in peace. However, on a plane, while it’s possible that one or two passengers might get sick, you really don’t expect half the plane to spit their lunch everywhere.

A Condor Airlines spokesman confirmed to Germany Bild that it did happen and note that if something goes wrong with the food it may originate in Mauritius. That said, they still claim not to know exactly what happened, saying:

Condor has initiated an investigation into the incident to get to the root of the cause and come up with possible measures from there. Condor is working closely with all responsible partners and authorities. There are currently no results. In general, we do not engage in speculation about the cause, for example, about individual onboard menus prepared in Mauritius.

Regardless of the real cause of all the vomiting, nothing will change the fact that the passengers on that flight found themselves trapped in a real-life version of that infamous Family Guy scene. Hopefully the airline will do their best and provide advice to all those involved as something tells us they will need a lot of therapy to get through this.
