The first pony for the sweetontheladies bet winner
Sprinters win big bets Sweetontheladies was represented by his first pony when a foal was born on January 23.
The foal is the fourth pony produced from More Than Ready mare Intermission, which comes from a family of millionaires and Winchester 1st place winners as well as Middleburg graded multi-stakes winners. The Virginia mare gave birth to three ponies to enter the race, one of which was the winner.
Sweetontheladies is the 8-year-old son of spinning candy – Whataclassybroad, by Mr. Yankee. Showing speed and agility at an early age, Sweetontheladies won the first two races and won the Junior Sprint Stake at Gulfstream Park West in the fourth start. Racing primarily on the South Florida track, Sweetontheladies went on to win the Crystal River handicap at Gulfstream Park at the age of 3 before campaigning until the age of 6. He won the black category 1 when he finished third in Racecourse Saratoga‘s Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes (G1) in addition to the bets classified in Smile Sprint Stakes (G3), two versions of Gulfstream Park Sprint Stakes (G3) and Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes (G3).
He retires in 2021 with a 4-5-6 record of 31 to the post position and an income of $408,012.
Sweetontheladies represent the 2023 breeding season with an advertised fee of $2,500 for live ponies at Pleasant Acres Stallions in Morriston, Fla.
