As for my Aussie food allergy, it was on a vet’s prescription – Z/D Hill. Then, because he’s allergic to the environment, get an allergy shot every few months if he starts scratching a lot.

Check out how to follow the elimination diet. Forget the ‘tests’, this is the gold standard and not hard to do. Playing Food Monopoly isn’t fun, I don’t know how much food we’ve been through, figuring out some that all four Aussies can eat without kicking us out of the living room. Other than allergies, but monitoring for sensitive ingredients helps. My BC can never handle seedless formulations, did a great job on granulated singletons. Remove food. My husband is a holistic veterinarian, and we’ve established a lot of them. Google is your friend.

My dog is not allergic to chicken, he is allergic to additives found in dry food. And almost all of them use them. I was advised by some friends to try roughage and it worked. I take all natural vitamins that are recommended for raw diets and when you read the ingredients on the label. You know what they’re putting into the vit mix. I give eggs twice a week. And add apples, carrots, greens, whatever fresh veggies I have in the fridge to give them variety. My dogs love it and I know what’s in my dog food. You can use the same mixture and cook the meat only if you’re worried about feeding it raw, but I do a great job with raw meat. And I buy their meat from the grocery store so they get human food.

My son started having some skin problems and no matter what foods I tried afterwards, whether cereal or grain-free, skin problems always seemed to be lurking. Then I heard NO grain-free food and heard that some brands like Purina and others are highly recommended by veterinarians… actually, I wouldn’t touch Purina . What’s interesting to me is that the things that are most touted by veterinarians are the ones they happen to sell in their offices and most likely pay off. So I stopped searching and making my dog food with various ingredients from the grocery store. My boy is very healthy and has an ideal weight, and his vet approved it.

I just switched from nutro to natural diamond, yes, stay away from chicken… I use beef for my 2 dogs and salmon for my other dog… my Aussie dog had itchy feet at the start of fall so we took him to the vet. medicine for allergy injection.. but it has nothing to do with food.

Mine can’t have peas, pork, oats or peanuts. Peas are found in most dry foods as a filler so it is difficult to find a food that is edible. He is currently eating Royal Canin Digestive Diet

Luckily, I don’t have any known food allergies, but I know a lot of dogs who are allergic to chicken. Mine enjoys alternately different foods and one of their favorites is Purina One lamb and rice. May be good for a dog allergic to chicken.
