This is said to be a new Ferrari
Ferrari has issued a press release claiming the car you see here is the new Ferrari V12 it will replace 812. And as you can see, there are plenty of Ferrari badges on the car, which usually indicates you’re looking at a Ferrari. However, are we? Remove the badges and is Ferrari really your first guess here? Not “some new car added to Grand Theft Auto in the latest update”?
To be clear, we’re not saying it looks terrible. We were surprised to see Ferrari’s design team change the styling like this. The front end gives off some Daytona feels, so it’s not completely unprecedented. That said, calling it 12Cilindri seems a bit lazy. Did they really just call the new V12 the Twelve Cylinder? Yes, they really did.
However, even if you don’t agree with the new name and styling, this is Ferrari we’re talking about. If you get a chance to drive one, we suspect you’ll be delighted. After all, there’s a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 under the hood, making 818 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. You could be driving the ugliest, most uncomfortable car ever made and the naturally aspirated V12 revving up to 9,500 rpm would still deliver a great time.
With that kind of power comes some serious performance too. According to Ferrari, the 12Cilindri will be able to reach a speed of 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. Acceleration to 124 mph takes just 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 211 mph.
Inside, the cabin is more typical of what we’ve seen from Ferrari recently, meaning there are plenty of screens. You get a 15.6-inch driver display, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. If that amount of screen isn’t enough for you then we don’t know what to say.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but based on the 812’s price, a price tag of around $400,000 wouldn’t be surprising. However, add in the cost of buying cheaper Ferraris for the opportunity to buy the 12Cilindri, and the total cost of getting behind the wheel can reach seven figures. That money doesn’t really matter to most Ferrari owners.
