Siliconera’s PlayStation 5 Games 2021
We know we probably don’t need to convince Siliconera readers to pick up the PlayStation 5. (when they’re available, of course). of prediction!
These awards represent the consensus of Siliconera staff. For more award picks of the year, check out Game of the Year Archives 2021.
Winner: Tales of Arise
The Stories The franchise has held on to tradition, delivering a classic experience while its peers in the space do more experimentation. That has built it a base of dedicated fans, but it also leaves it behind in a few ways. Tales of Arise do a lot to bridge the technical gap, delivering a game that looks and feels more like a modern day game. But don’t worry! It remains as much of a traditional JRPG and a traditional anime as its longtime supporters want it to be.
Final Fantasy VII Remake: INTERmission
Even without the content of the base game, INTERmission There are lots of fun ideas and narrative moments to offer. Yuffie is a delight. Fort Condor is so much fun, we wanted a standalone game out of it. And witnessing this creation makes us optimistic that we will see a similar effort as the remake effort continues. Even by itself, this is the PlayStation 5 game of the year 2021 as a finalist.
Guilty Gear Strive
The fighting game has never looked this is good. Guilty Gear Strive continues Arc System Works’ efforts to create the best modern 2D animations in the game and precise controls backing up the image.
