On October 20, an excellent human discovered seven puppies huddled collectively on the aspect of a highway subsequent to site visitors in South Tacoma.
The puppies have been delivered to the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County for care. They arrived sick and torpid, with some experiencing bloody diarrhea.
After thorough veterinary exams and checks, all seven of the puppies examined constructive for parvovirus, a lethal and contagious virus that impacts the gastrointestinal tract. There is no such thing as a remedy for this viral illness and the shelter has seen over a dozen instances of it this yr.
