Mom’s eyes widened when the dog “Gargoyle” ran for the first time
A stray dog in Mexico is in dire need of human intervention. She was nicknamed “Gargoyle” by the locals because of her appearance. Her skin looks more like elephant skin than dog skin. She was thin and full of scabies. Poor girl!
A couple Alex and Brady flew from Canada to Mexico to save animals in distress. When Brady picked her up and held her in his arms, she didn’t know what to think, but she was too weak to try to escape. Once safely in the couple’s car, it’s time to head to the vet clinic.
Veterinarians don’t have good news for them. Her blood tests showed some problems and she needed steroid treatment. Thankfully, the vet had some good news: the pair could pick her up later that day. The vet repeatedly called the puppy “Mija” which means “my girl” in Spanish. Alex loved the name, and it worked. Mija has a long journey ahead of her, but now she has loving lifeguards to help her along the way.
The couple’s plan is to raise Mija until she is healthy enough to go to a permanent home. Alex and Brady take Mija to the beach every day so she can exercise, but of course, she’ll have to build up her muscles first. What started out as just a few steps a day turned into such a miracle that her adoptive mother burst into tears. Her story continues below, and it will blow you away! Thank you Alex and Brady for giving Mija a second chance at life.
