Mazda CX-50 2023 revealed with standard AWD and hybrid coming soon

Mazda announced The entire new SUV line-up has been expanded coming out in the next few years, and the first of them has finally been revealed. Mazda CX-50 2023 will fill a position above CX-30 with the same size as CX-5. And it will have some cool features, including a mixture powertrain system.

The design looks like a more rugged and rugged version of the CX-5. It has wider fenders with more plastic flares. The grille has darker contours and can be finished in gloss black. There are even sporty matte black decals for the hood. The interior is reminiscent of other Mazdas, with minimalist dash lines, large hidden air vents, and accents on the dashboard. But it has touches like vertical vents around the devices that make it unique and a bit more square in shape. It also has a new interior colour called Terracotta.

Interior Mazda CX-50

Mazda has kept quiet about some details regarding the CX-50, but it will have a few familiar engines to start with. The base engine will be a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder, with a turbocharged version available as an option. Expected output for the base engine is around 185-190 hp and 250 hp for the turbo model. Both come with Mazda’s six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will be standard on all models, as this model is geared towards better off-road and outdoor mobility than other Mazdas.

Multiple driving modes will also be available, instead of just Normal and Sport. The additions are a Drag mode and an Off-Road mode. According to Mazda engineer Dave Coleman, only one off-road mode is offered to keep things simple. It makes some interesting changes such as making the G-Vectoring system more powerful, which is a system that cuts torque to shift weight to the front wheels for more grip. It also engages more fully in all-wheel drive to help the wheels rotate at the same speed for stability. On hills, slope hold comes into play, idling is lifted for smooth throttle transitions, and the torque converter doesn’t lock right in to help the vehicle pass objects with ease.

There are some other interesting tidbits. The CX-50 will be the first Mazda vehicle to be offered with a panoramic sunroof, and it will be the first to be produced at the new Mazda joint venture and Toyota factory in Alabama. It will go on sale next spring and pricing is likely to be announced closer to the release date.
