Child actor Coronji Calhoun Sr. from ‘Monster’s Ball’ passed away from heart failure
Actor Coronji Calhoun Sr., who played Halle Berry’s son in “Monster’s Ball,” has died at the age of 30.
He passed away from congestive heart failure.
“We are blown away by the love the community and Coronji’s adoptive family has shown throughout our grieving process,” his mother, Theresa C. Bailey, wrote on the GoFundMe page.
“As we close this chapter, we ask that in his memory, you remember to love your neighbor as yourself, because that’s what Coronji did for his entire community. .”
Halle Berry donated to her GoFundMe page.
In the movie, Berry was very upset for her son because he was overweight and would abuse him.
“It’s a lot harder than the love scene because Coronji is actually 10 years old [years old] and obesity,” she said according to People.
Berry continued, “I was worried that I would somehow hurt him emotionally, not only while doing the shoot, but also on the road. So I talked to him a lot. a lot and hugged and kissed him a lot. He said, ‘You don’t have to worry about what you say; it can’t be as bad as how they treated me at school.'”
