The Mazda CX-5 will miss Android smartphone mirroring longer than expected.
Both wired and wireless Android Auto connectivity options are not currently available in CX-5 until July 2023, according to the Mazda Australia website, that same month it will be available in the relevant version CX-8.
CX-5 vehicles manufactured between November 2022 and June 2023 will be retrofitted free of charge at the dealership and CX-8 vehicles manufactured between January 2023 and June 2023.
When the CX-5 is updated details last NovemberMazda Australia says it will get wireless Android Auto – in addition to wireless Apple CarPlay – on all base Maxx bars.
However, the flagged Android Auto will be temporarily unavailable to all vehicles manufactured between November 2022 and March 2023 and will need to be activated through an available dealer update. from April 2023.
A spokesperson for Mazda Australia confirmed at the time the feature was temporarily unavailable as it had not yet received certification from Google.

For 2023, Mazda made the 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment display standard across the CX-5 range. This was previously reserved for GT SP and Akera models.
The base Maxx misses out on satellite navigation and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other changes to the 2023 CX-5 range include a longer warranty period of 12 months/15,000 km for petrol models (diesel models at 12 months/10,000km), New Rhodium White exterior paint and remote window opening function.
The Maxx Ultimate Guide has also been discontinued.

2023 CX-8
The CX-8 also gets the 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system as standard across the range, as well as a broader reform.
Like the CX-5, the CX-8 has new Touring Active and GT SP variants, while a 7.0-inch digital instrument display is standard across the range along with a USB-C port in the front seats. and remote window opening function.
Other changes include a new grille; redesigned bumpers, headlights and taillights; new alloy wheel design; Rhodium White paint available; Mi Drive selectable driving mode system on all-wheel drive models; and claims to reduce noise, vibration and harshness.
