2023 BMW Villa d’Este Concept is a weird brown Shooting Brake

BMW lost Ville d’Este Concours pretty serious, so it tends to churn out concept cars for the event that can warm even my cold, shriveled concept-hating heart to the core. For example, Garmisch conceptoriginally existed in 1970 and then disappeared like a whistle in the wind only to be recreated in 2019. Or, if your preference is for more modern looking cars with wild aerodynamics, you have can remember Car 3.0 CSL ‘Hommage’ from 2015.

Well, the ze volks from Munich are back in 2023 and this time things are a little more tame and less history-focused, but that’s forgivable since this year’s concept is an honest shooting brake with god. It’s called the BMW Concept Touring Coupe, and it sounds like a modern take on the beloved car Coupe models Z3 and Z4 with bonus Wheels like Z8. It’s pretty good, and honestly, the worst thing about it is that BMW only built this one.

This is the only time that the M3/M4 grille can look cool.

Details on the bones of the car are few, but using my decades of being an unstoppable European car enthusiast and clap my hands on the images provided, I would say that it is based on Z4. BMW doesn’t mention powertrain specs, so it’s safe to assume there’s nothing more exciting under the hood than Z4 M40i’s inline-six.

It is worth mentioning that the brand capitalizes on the myth hommeister kink for the Touring Coupe Concept. If you don’t know what that is, it’s the sharp bend of the window and window trim on the car’s C-pillar. It’s been a hallmark of BMW’s design over the years, and whenever the company does something without it, its absence is noticeable.

Why yes, those look like Z8 wheels.

Other highlights of the Concept Touring Coupe are the unique Sparkling Lario paintwork, which uses a gray-brown background with lots of green flakes. It looks good in photos and I hope it will look great in person, especially in direct sunlight. The concept’s leather interior is done in conjunction with the Italian brand Poltrona Frau and looks great too.

Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2023 is scheduled to run from May 19 to May 21 and we can’t wait to see what beautiful, rare and exotic cars will emerge from the map. wood for this luxurious celebrity event.
