Matt Nagy and the Bears’ offense have struggled in 2021. They had another tough day against Raven, and one scene, in particular, encapsulated Chicago’s season-long struggles.

Apparently, Nagy is having a problem with her headphones. He is unable to communicate with his assistants on the pitch, and understandably, he is deeply frustrated by communication problems.

In the end, the Bears decided to return to the field. In the fourth half, they served the ball to David Montgomery. The rerun has been resolved to no avail.

As a result, Raven took over with their best field placement of the day. And even if they couldn’t stop Montgomery, there was a penalty for the Bears, so they likely got the ball back with a slot.

It’s not clear exactly how much of an impact Nagy’s headphone issues have on this decision, but it certainly forces them to use the least amount of time-out. The team’s call also turned the field in Raven’s favor.

That proved to be in the aftermath, as Raven scored a two-possible lead later after blocking a Chicago ball. That on-field goal proved the difference in the game, as Raven and Bears traded for touchdowns late in the game, but Raven came out with a 16-13 win.

This is not the first time we have seen Headphone problems affect a trainer in 2021, but Nagy’s problems couldn’t have gotten worse. That wasn’t the only reason the Bears lost, but it was a play that certainly worked in Raven’s favor.
