Lightroom Edit: Underexposed to Vibrant and Warm
With just a few clicks you can take a photo from low light to sunny and impressive –follow with this Lightroom edit.
Using MCP’s Transmit light preset gallery for Lightroom, and with just a few manual tweaks, I created the above edit in about a minute.
From the InFusion section of Infused Light, I clicked on the following presets to apply them to this photo:
- Fix underexposure 3
- 50% one click color base
- Tick Help 1 (to restore details in the cloud)
- Lighten Up 1 (to lighten shadows)
- 2 different directions (to increase contrast)
- Surround 1 (to add texture)
Next, I added some manual tweaking to the HSL panel in Lightroom. Using the targeted adjustment tool on the Saturation tab, I click and drag on both the blue sky and green grass to increase the saturation. On the Luminance tab, I pulled down the sky to add depth to the blues and add drama. These tweaks produced the following settings:
Next, I added some suns using the Golden Sunlight preset (From top right) from the Illuminate Horizontal folder. This added quite a bit of light and warmth to my subject. To brighten her up even more, I painted over her using these settings on the local adjustment brush:
My painted area has a red overlay on it in this screenshot.
Using the Auto Mask feature on the adjustment brush, I was able to paint the subject perfectly, with no paint overlapping the sky.
