It took me about 85 hours to make a platinum Elden ring (It’s platinum on PC!)
In case you’re curious how much work it requires
So this is one of the least spoiled articles we could write about Elden Ring, and it involves a simple anecdote about the cruel nature of time itself. It took me about 85 hours to go “platinum” Elden Ring, ” And I’m using quotes because it’s on PC. But God, it’s the same thing and everyone knows what I’m talking about if I say “platinum!”
Note that this 95% platinum is spoiler-free, tutorial-free and pre-launch: so your mileage may vary and you can do it faster if you constantly refer to the manual. I could find every hidden achievement encounter, except for the lone pre-review encounter, which our own Jordan Devore helped me find out. In fact, the last 5% going platinum was due to Jordan, and we shared our findings together as a secret treasure hunter club.
Amazingly, the majority of weapon/magic/item achievements aren’t nearly as bad to collect as previous games in the series (with the right moves, you can get them all in one! runs). Most of them cannot be missed, but there are a few. You can find instructions for one of the weapons here (spoiler alert shield)and another one can miss in my game here (spoiler alert shield); but some are claiming that the latter can still be found under certain conditions. In those two cases, I was able to get both in about 45 minutes running New Game+ (skimming). I’ll leave out any specifics about the end here as a precaution.
So all, if you want platinum Elden Ring, it’s easier than some other From Software games. Again, with very little omitted content and the ability to use save techniques to get to the bottom three, it’s totally doable. Just spend about 80 hours depending on your speed and note the above two items.
