Hidekazu Tanakaa Japanese composer who worked on music for Aikatsu and The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls, was arrested for attempting to assault a girl. According to investigators, he forcibly tried to grab a girl’s hand while saying sexually explicit words to her. Tanaka is 35 years old this year, and the victim is in the ‘tens’ age. This can result in imprisonment for between eleven and nineteen years. [Thanks, NHK!]
The incident happened in Tokyo’s Meguro district in August 2022. The actual assault took place in a bicycle parking area near a subway station. The girl then went to the police station and reported Tanaka, which prompted the police to investigate the incident. Upon investigating, they found security camera footage from the subway station showing Tanaka spying on her. It is not clear if Tanaka and the victim knew each other before.
Tanaka is a member of the music production company MONACA until he goes freelance in 2021. He has composed and arranged songs like ““Silent star” Because Uma Musume Pretty Derby and “Slow Life Fantasy” for The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage. He also works on anime like Servant x Service, Work!!!and Scorching Ping Pong Girls.
Police arrested Hidekazu Tanaka on October 24, 2022 and are still looking into the matter.
