Gmail DOWN! Affected users worldwide; This is what happened


Gmail users are facing worldwide problems in receiving and sending emails. Downdetector has observed that Gmail is down due to an increasing number of queries.

Are you facing any problems sending and receiving emails on your Gmail account? If yes, then you are one of the thousands of users currently experiencing this problem. Users are reporting issues with sending and receiving messages. Panicked users rushed to Twitter to share their experiences while some said they couldn’t access their mail.

DownDetector, which displays a graph of Gmail outages reported in the last 24 hours, says these cases peaked around 8:24 p.m. today. The graph shows a view of issues reported by users in the last 24 hours. Most Gmail users have encountered problems receiving emails on Gmail, accounting for 84% of cases. 9% of users experience Server connection and 7% have issues with Gmail website.

Meanwhile, some users are also having trouble accessing Google’s website. Downdetector’s report reveals that most cases are website related with 71% reporting it, while 17% of users have difficulty in ‘Search’ and 13% say they have problems with Google Drive .

However, the majority of cases have been reported to Gmail. In India, users complained about the Gmail app being unresponsive and emails not being delivered. After Gmail went down, people took to social media to share their experience of the inconvenience.

One of the users wrote: “Just because it’s weekend doesn’t mean Gmail works well!! No messages received in Gmail!#gmaildown”

Meanwhile, another user tweeted, “It’s always WhatsApp down, Insta down, Facebook down, etc. This time #gmaildown is like (let me do it!)”
