Price and specifications of Ford Transit 2025

Ford updated its full size Transit range, with more technology and, depending on model, new transmissions and better towing capabilities.

The first arrivals within the update range will start end of the third quarter of 2024and Ford says additional specifications will be announced closer to launch.

Technically, Ford isn’t calling the updated range a 2025 model, instead calling it MY24.75.

Gross combined mass (GCM) and braked towing capacity increased for the following models:

Model GCM Towing capacity with brakes
Transit Truck 350L LWB FWD 6000kg (+1750kg) 2750kg (+950kg)
Transit Truck 350L LWB RWD 7000kg (+900kg) 3500kg (+750kg)
Transit 430E RWD single cab chassis 7000kg (+900kg) 3500kg (+1100kg)
Transit 430E ELWB RWD truck 7000kg (+900kg) 3500kg (+1100kg)

Ford also said there was a small increase in payload capacity for cargo models except the E-Transit, although the company has not released figures.

The six-speed automatic transmission on the front-wheel-drive 350L has been replaced with an eight-speed automatic, which Ford says provides greater efficiency and a smoother driving experience. It also switches to the rotary gear selector.

You can no longer get one Transit in Australia with a manual transmission, that means the base price has increased by $3000 – although the entry-level front-wheel-drive 350L model is only $500 more than the outgoing model.

All models get an 8.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, tire pressure monitoring, keyless ignition, and a 5G embedded modem with FordPass connectivity, while all models except the 430E dual rear wheels all have electronic parking brakes.

All but the single cab chassis get a surround-view camera, although the cab chassis model gets front fog lights and front parking sensors in addition to the already standard reversing camera.

Visual changes to the Transit are minimal, including new black badges and a “simplified” Blue Oval design.
