Leroy Rosenior has said he agrees with Gareth Southgate on the “layer of complexity that is always there” when deciding who to pick in the penalty shootout for the England national team.
England manager Mr Southgate recently voiced his concerns following a series of racist abuses received by Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka when they missed penalties. at Euro 2020.
Former professional footballer Mr Rosenior said it was good that the England coach had highlighted the issue because “black players deal with things that white people don’t”.
