Hyundai Ioniq refueling model, Polestar 3 first look, solid state for BMW and Ford: Car News Today


Polestar shows off its performance electric SUV, the 3. Solid Power is ramping up production of experimental solid-state cells. And Hyundai has announced the end of the exhaust pipes and fuel tanks for the Ioniq line. This and more, here at Green Car Report.

Polestar has given its first look at Electric performance SUV, Polestar 3. For its size and position relative to the Porsche Cayenne and other electric SUVs such as the BMW iX M60, Audi E-Tron S and Tesla Model X Plaid, the Polestar 3 will be built on a completely new platform and thus American made, in South Carolina. Look for the full reveal in October and production start in early 2023.

Improved energy density is one of the proven advantages of Solid Power solid state battery cells aim to provide for BMW and Ford investors to evaluate before the end of the year. And first, it just set up a test track for its own internal testing.

The Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and plug-in hybrid coming soon, Hyundai confirmed on Monday. Once considered the strongest rival to the Toyota Prius and Prius Prime, the model has played a very different role for Hyundai – giving birth to an entire brand that now includes the luxury Ioniq 5 hatchback and the upcoming Ioniq 6 sedans and Ioniq 7 SUVs. With the Ioniq Electric debuting in the past year, those with exhausts will be discontinued in July – although Hyundai remains open to a brief 2023 model year.
