Which gas stations have the best fuel quality?

For many drivers, when the fuel gauge is nearly empty, they pull in anything the gas station most convenient or lowest price. However, there are slight differences between different brands and the specific formulations they mix into the fuel.

All gasoline sold in the United States meets the minimum requirements set forth by the government. The difference between the brands lies in the additives and detergents that are added to the mix to help prolong the life of the engine.

Some fuel companies – working with major automakers include BMW car, Fiat-Chrysler, Synthetic engine, Honda’s motobike, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Volkswagen/Audi – has gone a step further, setting a higher standard already known as Top Grade fuel. Brands that qualify as Top Grade contain added detergents that exceed minimum requirements and help prevent carbon build-up in car engines.

Over time, a furnace that is a modern engine will build up carbon deposits, a by-product of engine combustion that takes place thousands of times per minute. Like the torques on a boat, carbon deposits can build up on critical engine parts, like valves, pistons, and combustion chambers. As carbon builds up, the engine will run rougher and less efficient (i.e., less power or less power energy saving).

Based on an AAA surveyTop Tier fuel leaves 19 times less deposits after driving 4,000 miles in the engine lab. Top Tier fuel also helps to clean the dirt on the engine.

To find the Top Level fuel, look for the Top Level icon on the pump. Any fuel – regardless of octane number, and diesel oil – may qualify for Top Level status. So there’s no need for premium fuel if your car only needs it regularly. However, if your car has high-end requirements, a lower octane can damage the engine.

The following is a list of the top fuel brands available in the United States. You can also consult the official Top grade gas site to find the latest updates, as well as the Canadian, Mexican and South American brands that offer it.
