When that’s all you have, you. Have. NOTHING. – Watts Up With That?

How does it go when you have to defend your accusation that this ‘leak memo’ directive is attracting gunfire evidence that the fossil fuel industry has been waging war on translate misinformation to mislead the public about what the industry knows about the certainty of human-caused global warming? Just ask’ … for the possibility 218+ friends ….

There is nothing exaggerated about the directive phrase in the worthless memo like that proof (it is never done any where) is the only thing environmental activists have in their arsenal to support their accusations of misinformation campaigns that fund the fossil fuel industry, and I’m not joking about it. the fact that it has been repeated recently, this proves that that crowd has nothing else to support their accusation and how desperate they are becoming to use it to keep the accusation alive. in.

While the Attorney General of New Jersey did not include that phrase in his video or written notice of filing Oct. Matthew Platkin vs Exxon Mobil the lawsuit, the case itself most definitely didas I pointed out in my October 30 dissection its. And so is the left-leaning Triple Pundit website on October 25where they felt compelled to refer to the “global warming repositioning” memo — unrelated to the AG Platkin profile, but instead to other The New Jersey-style “Exxon Knew” lawsuit, Hoboken v Exxonso:

The city also pointed to a coordinated industry campaign to deceiving the public about what it already knew to be true about climate change from its own scientific studies: “Defendants spent millions of dollars on ads that cast doubt on climate science; research without a scientific basis is funded to do the same; and create extended networks of forward groups to ‘repositioning global warming as theory, not reality’.

While These tactics definitely got us where we are todayIndustry representatives naturally argued that holding oil companies accountable in court was frivolous and a waste of time and money.

funny thing about that bit get out Hoboken filing: All Defendants really have nothing to do with that, not even. Since no one with major regulatory influence in the industry has ever seen the directive strategy to “reposition global warming” and consider how Unsolicited offer with it Unwanted “Informed Citizens” and other alternative PR campaign name suggestions ends up in the trashthere’s no way that’Those tactics definitely got us where we are today,’ and so the whole idea that the industry set out to fool anyone fell apart. Worse still, the public relations that the strategic memo is labeled as false is in fact not an “industry”, a PR campaign is nothing more than the brainchild of a company. non-profit cooperative Simple is that want the public to know that there is a side to the problem which the mainstream media has not reported in any depth. Looks like Triple Pundit wants to”Report on doing better business” but without the curiosity of the investigative press to see if the accusations they covered were really worth anything, or the curiosity of what would have happened if not one but two New York lawsuits had been filed. Jersey exposed was based on ‘leak memo’ evidence worthless.

Then there was September 1st newspaper revived old The “repositioning global warming” memo I dissected in my September 26 blog post. I didn’t get to grips with it until just in the last few weeks the author saw fit publicize her article on Twitter with a direct quote of that mnemonic phrase…..

…complete with – again – Unwanted name for PR campaign name that she never mentioned only once in her article. The obvious question is how could such a supposedly ‘careful’ researcher make such a big mistake that it undermines the core accusation in the supposedly ‘presumptive’ scientific paper. her review”?

These cases never bolster the credibility of the primary allegation that there is an unending conspiracy by the fossil fuel industry to “redefine global warming as theory rather than fact; ” each new clumsy spit-up only draws more attention to how inconsistent each story is about memos that are never used. Witness Evil behavior article contributor Geoff Dembicki, in his October 14 attempt to assert “Koch Industries, The Pseudo Scientist, and Rush Limbaugh Invented Climate Denial” through Reflux of a way out of him September 20-published The book “Oil File”:

The objective of the extension-led campaign, named “citizen notice for the Environment,” is to change people’s thoughts and beliefs about climate change. “Repositioning global warming as theory (not reality),“read a strategy document. “Target print and radio media for maximum effect.” Optics of coal benefits lead to an advertising attempt to confuse Public not great, so they decided to “use spokespersons from the scientific community” to get their message across.

During the spring of 1991, Michaels is their man[meeting] with editors and writers at media agencies…

In that one paragraph alone, I counted seven critical errors. Ironically, because the author of the book Dembicki self-proclaimed “climate investigative reporter”. For example, the fact “Information Council BECAUSE Environment” PR campaign that a very limited part of the public sees – three small cities – lasts only for 18 day2 and a half weeks, May 12 to May 29, so Dr. Patrick Michaels can Not has been the public face of the campaign from March to May. And the ICE campaign administrators aren’t shy at all about their optics who led the campaign?.

What is another problem plaguing “climate investigative reporter” Dembicki? It seems that he did not investigate in any way the above claims, he source all to the Climate Files page – or as I have detailed many times here at GelbspanFiles, that Page at Climate Profile, run by that Kert Davies, who a former top worker of the old forgotten Ozone Action group, where magically ‘get’ old The leaked memo “repositioned global warming” without ever saying who they got them from.

Instead of cutting down another forest to get all of the paper for his books, Dembicki could have printed 1-page pamphlets on used paper that read:For descriptions and evidence of industry-staged disinformation campaigns that reposition global warming as theory, see Kert Davies and his former bossand their tools around 1996-2000 at Ozone Action.”

The same applies to the unlucky “peer-reviewed” paper researcher Emily Williams involved her source for that memo.

Meanwhile, an example of how a case of misinformation can be blown up into a larger misinformation is this Tweet from someone who might fall under the ‘helpful idiot’ category:

See how it works? As I pointed out in my blog post over nine years agoit doesn’t matter if you get the basic details wrong, as long as you just get the mnemonic phrase “repositioning global warming”.

Thought I had nothing more recent than mid-October when vomiting you are really old Strategic memorandum phrase “repositioning global warming”? Think.

From November 8, 8 days ago from the date of publication of my blog post, we have The following from the English Al Jazeera”investigative reporter“by Hilary Beaumont”How US climate lawsuits could hold Big Oil accountable” article:

In 1991, the Environmental Information Council, whose members include oil and gas companiesgive a National climate denial campaign try “repositioning global warming as theory (not reality)“.

“Disinformation works best when we anchor it in a small piece of truth, and then you just distort it, and that’s what they did – increase uncertainty, raise suspicion. where there are none,” Richard Wilespresident of the Center for Climate Integrity, told Al Jazeera.

In recognition of her credit, Miss Beaumont actually spelled ICE’s official acronym correctly, but I still counted 4 errors in her sentence – ICE campaign members – meaning associates in the Western Fuel Association Cooperative of the coal mine/transport/power plant – consists of are not oil company, the ICE campaign took place in only three small cities, no one in the campaign was directed to reposition anything…. and her clickable link for the words “national climate denial campaign” accidentally goes to another Al Jazeera that does not contain a single word that remotely refers to national climate denial campaigns . Maybe she wants to link straight to Kert Davies’ Climate Profile page.

It’s interesting to see a sudden wave of ‘investigative/research reports’ (*ahem* really inappropriate research – not a joke!) has been going on for the past three months.

An educated guess about what prompted Beaumont to mention the memo is her quote from Richard Wiles of the Center for Climate Integrity. He is that Richard Wiles, who is also a board member of Climate Communications and Law (CCL), guess who is the highest paid board member? Kert Davies. Notice the name “Environmental Working Group” in that screenshot – Wiles & Davies is back at that place. Who is the Center for Climate Integrity affiliated with? They direct the group Pay to Climate Pollutants. What the paying climate polluters say is one of the smoke guns evidence of industry-led disinformation campaigns? grow old “repositioning” global warming… “originally discovered” by the Kert Davies Center for Climate Investigation, nothing more, nothing less, complete with the name never used for the ICE campaignand refer to oil companies.

The funny thing about Wiles/Davies and Media & Climate Law, they are not exactly open and transparent about what they do. So do Davies and his former boss when it comes to How are their efforts funded?. Ironic how they and who they can activate require transparency and all kinds of hidden documents from the fossil fuel industry’regarding payments to shadow groups to spread misinformation.’

There are two points to this end: First, when the best thing you have to prove is that the entire industry has run outright disinformation campaigns is a set of memos thrown in the trash under the literally, offered only from a small group of people whose only goal in life is killing that industry, then you have a problem if you have to actually defend this accusation by oath. Second, the issue of elections…. especially when the party has the right to investigate where misinformation exists and who is spreading it. change.
