Submit nominations to the 5th National Climate Assessment review committee
The National Committee on Atmospheric and Climate Science (BASC) and the Environmental and Social Change Commission (BECS) are currently soliciting nominations for a new special committee to conduct an independent technical review. prepared for the draft 5th National Climate Assessment Report (NCA5), which is expected to be made available for review in late fall 2022. NCA5 is intended to provide an updated assessment and summary of the Current and projected impacts of climate change on the United States, with detailed discussion of regional impacts.
The National Academies is seeking individuals to serve on the committee with expertise in the key areas covered by NCA5, including climate science and mitigation, human health and the environment, and systems. science, environmental justice, tribal and indigenous communities, ecology and biodiversity, and agriculture.
