SAS’ transferred from Star Alliance has been known for a long time, but the exact date when the airline will officially join SkyTeam is still unclear. Most recently, the parties only said that SAS will leave Star at the end of August.
Now, frequent flyers in SAS’s EuroBonus program have an exact date when they can expect alliance perks like earning miles and elite benefits to kick in.

“EuroBonus Silver members will be recognized as SkyTeam Elite level, while Gold and Diamond members will be recognized as Elite Plus,” SAS said on Monday. declare. “This will give them access to a network of more than 750 airport lounges and SkyPriority services at eight airport touchpoints including priority check-in, boarding and processing luggage.”
The move comes as SAS prepares to emerge from bankruptcy, with Air France-KLM taking a stake in the company as part of the process.

SAS is a founding member of Star Alliance United Airlines, Air Canada, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and Singapore Airlines are among more than two dozen member airlines.
