Tesla’s The big holiday update of the year has begun to arrive in the automaker’s fleet tram, and it adds a sizable list of improvements and new features. For those addicted to scrolling on TikTok, perhaps the biggest addition is the TikTok app on the Tesla Theater. According to the update note posted by Electrek, they’ll now be able to scroll the platform’s short-form videos – on repeat, if they want to – right on their car’s screen, as long as their car is parked.
In the Toybox, owners will also now find the Light Show feature that Tesla introduce like an easter egg on X model back in 2015. For X model, a staged light show that includes flashing lights and opening falcon doors, but other models will have to do with the former. Tesla has made its app launcher customizable, allowing owners to drag and drop their favorite apps onto the bottom menu bar. It also simplifies navigation to make most common key controls, such as charging and windshield wipers, easier to access.
To automatically view a live camera of their blind spot when they activate a turn signal, drivers can activate the new “Automatic Blind Spot Camera” option in Autopilot in Controls. In addition, drivers can now edit Waypoints to add stops or start new navigation routes with updated arrival times. The holiday package also gets seasonal updates, including automatic seat heating that can adjust front-seat temperatures based on cabin environment, along with other cold-weather enhancements.
Additionally, drivers can now remove dash cam footage directly from the touchscreen and hide map details to eliminate distractions if they so desire. Finally, in the entertainment division, Tesla added Sonic Hedgehog and Sudoku for its Arcade – although we strongly recommend just playing any Arcade game while it’s parked. In the first day of this month, New York Times reported that Tesla was allowing drivers to play some games in moving cars, a concern that National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are in discussion with the company. Organ tell Engadget In a statement: “Distracted accidents are a concern, especially in vehicles equipped with a range of convenient technologies such as infotainment screens. We are aware of driver concerns. and are discussing this feature with the manufacturer.”
