The new electronic portal is called Runiversalis and it aims to replace Wikipedia in Russia. It was launched – but stopped working very quickly after debut. At the time of publishing this post, the Runiversalis website is not open – the browser gives the message “Secure connection failed”.
The Russian online encyclopedia Runiversalis should not be confused with the Russian Wikipedia, because the two projects are completely different. Runiversalis was launched on August 23, but can be accessed in less than a day.
According to a statement by the Runiversalis employees, they are ‘former editors and administrators of the Russian Wikipedia’. With this new project, they are aiming to create their own infrastructure, including servers and databases – all located in the Russian Federation, operating in accordance with local laws and regulations. direction.
