Guthrie Corridor Expressway GCE Interchange at Elmina will be closed April 27 for 3 months due to congestion

This is another update from highway concessionaire Prolintas regarding the Guthrie Corridor (GCE) Expressway and it concerns intersection closures that will take place from tomorrow. Prolintas said in a statement that two intersections leading to the highway from Elmina will be closed for three months, starting April 27 for a three-month period in an effort to increase traffic flow in the area. area.

The closures relate to the interchanges for the road from Elmina East towards Rawang and the road from Elmina West towards Shah Alam, both on the GCE. Once in effect, the closure means motorists should make a U-turn at roundabouts to access the ramps for both directions of travel, towards Rawang or Shah Alam respectively.

Prolintas said this will be a three-month trial closure until July 26 and the intersection closure will become permanent if the trial successfully resolves congestion at the site. The highways operator found that the use of the intersection by motorists was affecting traffic flow and causing severe congestion at the site, especially during peak hours.
