Why “Wonder Dog”? Well, he just makes you wonder. We are a pet on this type of home furniture. Needless to say, just like Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory, Skeeter has his “place” and if something gets in his way, he has no problem letting us know that he is. problem and then move the object (usually a pillow or throw a blanket) away so that he can stay in place.

One sunny afternoon, I was outside with Skeeter, and I noticed a pile of food-wrapped garbage next to the fence. I bent down to pick it up and to my surprise the crumb was actually still on the unopened bag of cookies. I looked further down the fence, noticed more debris, and saw that they were also attached to the filled bags! You can see the panic in Skeeter’s eyes when he sees me discovering his treasure.

For the next half hour, I watched him inspect his hiding areas and rescue hidden items, both for humans and pets. We finally catch him in action, nudge a chair by the table just enough to climb on, reach for something and then run out the pet door with it. Needless to say, junk food is now held in much higher places. However, the resourceful Skeeter is still trying to find a new food treasure to bury.

Skeeter is truly a best friend. He seems to know when you need to cuddle or how you would feel better if you just picked your ears a little. He hates it when his dad yells at the Eagles on TV. He endures Hallmark’s Christmas movies year-round with Mom.

Skeeter makes sure we know any time a postman, delivery man, neighbor or person passes by our house. He let us know when it was time for bed and was always happy to try the bacon I made for breakfast to make sure it was the correct crunch.
