Tesla slashes FSD price, discontinues Advanced Autopilot in US, still available in Malaysia for RM16k
Tesla has discontinued the $6,000 enhanced Autopilot option in the US, leaving only the Full Self-Driving feature available for purchase. In return, the price of FSD was reduced from $12,000 to $8,000.
FSD has gone through various price adjustments over the years, starting at $5K in 2019 before reaching a peak of $15K in 2022. It has since dropped to 12K. thousand USD in September 2023 before dropping further to the current price of USD 8,000. this week.
Fast test Tesla Malaysia website shows that the Advanced Autopilot is still available for RM16,000, while the FSD is priced at RM32,000. RM32k for FSD is one of the cheapest in the world as it only costs US$6.7k after currency conversion. However, currently you cannot use it in Malaysia.
Tesla comes with basic autopilot as standard. It allows Tesla to automatically steer, accelerate, and brake for other vehicles and pedestrians in its lane. There are also other driver assistance features such as emergency braking, collision warning and blind spot monitoring.
The RM16k Advanced Autopilot upgrade adds Navigation on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, Autopark and Smart Summon, which is said to allow your parked car to find you anywhere in the parking lot by navigating the Complex parking situations. Smart Summon does not work in Malaysia.
The RM32k FSD will reportedly allow Tesla to perform all driving operations on its own, although it still requires active driver supervision for now. It is not available for activation in Malaysia so far.
