Coach Sugar Hill appeared calm in any retirement talks surrounding Tyson Fury’s future following his fight with Dillian Whyte.
Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, will defend his title for the second time at Wembley Stadium on April 23 against his mandatory opponent.
The 33-year-old player told the media during the launch press conference that his 33 years oldrd fighting will be his last and plans to set sail into the sunset leaving the sport behind.
Speaking to BT Sport, Fury’s coach said: “That’s what he said at the time. Whatever he said at the time, that’s what it was. As you know, everyone in the world changes their mind. So it just depends on how much you really put your mind to what he said or anyone else. No one believes Tyson anyway so what difference does it make? ”
Fury and Hill are less than four weeks away from the fight against Whyte. WBC champion Interim declined to appear at the opening press conference to the anger of Fury’s co-promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum.
“I don’t know what the other person is thinking, maybe he had a plan when he saw him. Tyson has no plan,” Hill said.
The grandson of the great Emmanuel Stewart transformed Fury from a smart and elusive boxer into a fearsome ball as shown in fights two and three of the Deontay Wilder trilogy. During the interview, Hill was not attracted to Whyte’s power and instead kept matters clear and simple, especially when it came to a combat prediction.
“We didn’t know what Dillian Whyte was going to do when he got into that game and it was just a matter of making those adjustments and maybe making those adjustments. In every fight it’s not just a game plan, you go in there with everything you have and use those tools when you need them whenever you need to use them. Obviously, one thing on our mind is knockout. Certainly so “.
