As a 6×6 medium format camera, the 503CX produces a much larger negative than the largest digital medium format sensors. Perhaps even more intriguing are the 1:1 square-format negatives. The first 500 series camera, the 500C, was introduced in 1957 after four years as a prototype and would continue to evolve into new cameras. New samples and updates are valid for decades. That first model was notable for its features such as a leaf shutter allowing flash synchronization at all shutter speeds and the ability to focus at maximum aperture due to its automatic aperture stop feature. it.
