Ryan Garcia says he will stop Fortuna then KO Davis ‘tank’
According to Ryan Garcia, Javier Fortuna is the ideal preparation for a fight with Gervonta Davis.
On July 16th Garcia Faces Former WBA Super Featherweight Champion in Los Angeles knowing that only one victory would take him one step further towards his ideal fight against the ‘Tank’.
Speaking on DAZN . boxing show Garcia says:
“I know that Fortuna comes to fight, and I want a fierce warrior against me.”
“For me, Javier is the most perfect opponent for me. And to set up a fight with the Tank, I think it makes the most sense.”
“Angry dwarf Nampaw, not young, being a veteran, he’s a bit crafty in that. For me, it prepared me for Tank more than JoJo [Diaz]. I think for me it is the best choice because my mind is ready fight with Gervonta Davis. ”
Diaz was scheduled to meet Garcia last November, but then withdrew due to injury. The two have been constantly linked to fight against each other ever since.
Fortuna made a unanimous decision with Diaz that summer, but Garcia wasn’t interested in a yardstick.
Garcia then delivered a blow to Diaz, who accused his opponent of ‘playing the game’ after he was disqualified.
“I’ll have him [Fortuna] get out of there early. ”
“JoJo is nowhere near my degree. He’s not even a hindrance in my mind. I don’t think about him, he doesn’t even cross my mind ever.”
“I feel like JoJo is like a bumblebee, I don’t know the difference between JoJo and a bumblebee.”
However, Garcia now knows the difference between a good bet and a bad bet after losing $20,000 to Errol Spence Jr after a gentleman’s bet.
The two boxers were sitting close together to Gervonta Davis vs Rolly Romero more than three weeks ago. A handshake was captured on camera and it was revealed that Garcia bet Romero to win while the unified welterweight champion picked Tank, who stopped his foes. I’m in round six.
Despite being inferior during his visit to Brooklyn Garcia made some remarks about Davis’ performance that he thought could be used to his advantage should he have a chance to face him.
“There is much more I can say to give me the confidence to defeat the Tank and stop him. I saw a lot of things in that fight. Personally I wouldn’t do it [the same] mistakes like Rolly did. ”
“Rolly doesn’t have that much experience, he’s only been fighting since he was 17. You can see how his emotions came to him in the later part of the innings. He just started overshooting for no apparent reason. He won the war. “
“In that kind of fight, of that magnitude, no one cares if you beat the Tank as long as you win. So the fact that he thinks he needs to take down the Tank is his downfall. I saw a few things there that made me even more confident [of winning]. I was very confident before.”
