Rumors confirmed? Canon EOS R5c to be announced soon

Canon rumors are stirring. Several stores, including Canon News, claims that Canon has inadvertently confirmed the imminent arrival of the EOS R5c — the successor to R5, published in the summer of 2020. Apparently, readers discovered an image titled “EOS_R5C_Teaser-01-ProNews,” accidentally released by Canon UK. The photo was later renamed on the company’s website, but it seems clear that the cat was released from the bag. Some hint that the announcement will come next week.

If rumors are to be believed, the R5c is a video-focused version of the original camera with various upgrades, most notably an active cooling system that allows for “unlimited” 8K/30p recording. Obviously, the R5c will have a slightly larger body with the LCD screen placed further away to make room for the cooling system — this could This means that existing R5 covers may not fit the new model. Other additions to the upgraded camera include a 21-pin multifunction shoe that debuted on the R3, a full-size HDMI socket, and the inclusion of a Canon Log 2 profile.

Regardless of the full specs, you can be sure the DPG will let you know — as soon as the truth is out there…
