Although Rolando “Rolly” Romero has yet to step into the ring with Gervonta Davis, he knows and knows well what kind of explosives the world champion athlete has in his hands.
Having stopped 24 of the 26 opponents in front of him, Romero believes Davis will be the most shocking knockout he has ever faced. That said, however, Romero is confident that Davis has also never experienced the kind of mental powers he can handle.
“So far,” Romero told a group of reporters when asked if Davis was the heaviest puncher he had ever faced. “So far,” Romero repeated when asked if he was the hardest puncher Davis had ever fought.
On May 28, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Romero’s ambitious words will be put to the test. In front of what is expected to be a sold-out crowd, both Davis and Romero will meet in the center of the ring to beat it.
After his first game against Davis was jerked from underfoot, Romero believes he will no longer be given the chance. About a month before kickoff on December 5, 2021, Romero was withdrawn from their competition due to alleged sexual assault.
Shaken by the entire ordeal, Romero accepted his fate and instead put all his efforts to clear his name, which he would successfully do just a few months later. With Romero temporarily out of the picture, Isaac Cruz has had relatively short notice.
While Davis kept his impeccable track record intact, Cruz pushed the Baltimore native like some others. After Romero’s victory in the courtroom, the former player temporarily succeeded with £135 to rejoin negotiations with the Davis team. As a result, both sides have agreed to terms and will now go head to head on May 28.
In addition to his unanimous decision win over Cruz, Davis had 16 straight wins before the bell rang. However, despite nampaw’s strong tendency to inflict otherworldly pain on his opponents, Romero still believes that due to his defensive abilities, Davis’ powers will be rendered useless.
