Prodrive approached British automotive design icon Ian Callum to style this latest sim. Callum has held positions at Ford and Jaguar, and his projects include cars like Aston Martin V8 Vantage and DB9 and Jaguar XF first generation. Prodrive President David Richards said the idea of a new racing sim came during Covid‘ockdowns’ 2020. “We had a team in the virtual Le Mans race and had a number of high end simulators that we tend to use to get used to driving.Race track concept. While the design is impressive, the technology is less. Prodrive says the system has a purpose-built, that’s cool. But they need someone to tell them the proper specifications for a racing sim. Emulator uses 12 GB GeForce RTX graphics card with only 16 GB of memory. The last ones-gen console graphics moved to 49 inch curved screen and audio handled by \ Bowers & Wilkins PX7 Headphones.
If you want one, yyou will need some deep pocket. Callum says the simulator will cost £39,000 (or just over $47,000 at today’s exchange rate), and that doesn’t include shipping or taxes. But Callum and Richards think most people will be drawn to it. “I wanted to create something that people would almost certainly buy just to have itself,” says Callum.
