Porsche Taycan’s new look is being watched, rumors are stronger

A video published by car spy vehicle shows a Porsche taycan and tested the Taycan Sport Turismo in winter conditions.

Both vehicles appear to be production-ready, except for some black camouflage on the bumpers.

It looks like the updated Taycan will be revealed this year.

An earlier set of spy photos suggests Porsche may be working on a higher performance variant with a fixed rear wing.

Porsche has not confirmed whether there will be any changes to the powertrain, however reports abroad suggest a three-engine flagship could be on the way.

Such a model would likely offer more power than the current flagship Turbo S, which has a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with 560 kW of power and 1050 Nm of torque.

Interior updates for the facelift have yet to be revealed, but there could be trim and color changes as well as an updated infotainment system.

Taycan went into production in 2019 and last year Porsche made installation free at the dealership upgrade software to bring all existing models up to the 2023 model year specifications.

Updates include better thermal management, especially in cold temperatures, allowing for more frequent fast charging.

There’s also a series of powertrain updates affecting the 2021 Taycan models, bringing improvements that were introduced to the 2022 models.

In Normal and Range driving modes, the front engine of the all-wheel drive Taycan models is cut off almost completely.

Wireless Android Auto and built-in Spotify, introduced in early 2022, are available for older models as part of the update.

There’s also an updated look to the touchscreen start screen, better support for voice control, and an ‘optimized’ map view for the head-up display. .

Parking sensors have improved range, and the semi-autonomous parking assist system can now detect smaller gaps.

Although sales fell 19% last year in Australia to 430 units, it remains the second best-selling vehicle in the full-size car segment over $70,000.

It was sold out by BMW Series 5 (sales 457) but leading Mercedes-Benz E-Class (347 sales).

Taycan is also selling better Panamera stable friend, of which Porsche only sold 60 units.
