We recently installed Honeywell Home Smart Thermostat T10 Pro with Redlink® Room Sensor in our house. Why? Because it’s smart. Not just a smart decision, like a wise one, but because this thermostat can connect to any smart device.
We are ending second year (!!) in this house, and we are getting more and more understanding of our needs than our specific desires for the house. In a situation where the temperature can fluctuate by 100 degrees, it is very important to use our temperature control system more efficiently.
We’ve tried to make everything as efficient as possible with temperature control in this home, from regular furnace adjustments/maintenance to using our fireplace as an alternative heat source. . After a few last astronomical heating bills and realizing we couldn’t afford to replace both of our furnaces (yup, two… eek!), we decided to look at additional ways to do it. for our house to save more energy and heat.
The big challenge with this house is not getting it to our preferred temperatures of 71 in winter and 69 in summer but maintain it. Our homes are arranged so that the rooms receive all or no sunlight, which means they are either too hot or too cold, no matter what time of year; We need a solution to overcome both extremes.
After talking to the team at Resideo about our concerns, they suggested Honeywell Home T10 Pro Smart Thermostat with Redlink® Room Sensor thermostat.
The group sent a Video back Professional to install new thermostat in about one hour. While there are some things that I maybe do, this setting is not one of them. The Video Technology was awesome and walked me through the initial setup of the thermostat. It’s helpful to have the technology there during the initial installation. I could ask questions and he walked me through how to set up the app on the phone and connect it to our Alexa. After going through all the initial features, I was up and running. (DIY-ers, I recommend professional installation of this product.)
By far, my favorite part of the system is the ability to control everything on my phone.
Here’s what I can do on the app:
- Adjust the temperature for the whole house (obviously, it’s a thermostat).
- Get notification if temperature rise higher/lower than set temperature. I was then able to adjust immediately and possibly save some money.
- Adjust the temperature in each room. Finally, I was able to cool the sunny rooms and heat the rooms on the opposite side of the house!
I’ll keep an eye on exactly how the system works once I live with it a little longer. And I will share more about what I have learned.
