Oscar De La Hoya disappointed in team Isaac Cruz for turning down “attractive” offer to face Ryan Garcia

Oscar De La Hoya closely follows the ongoing war of words between Isaac Cruz and Ryan Garcia. The two lightweight contenders continued to hurl insulting statements at each other with Garcia urging the budding star to accept an upcoming bout against him.

However, according to Garcia’s promoter De La Hoya, Cruz was given the opportunity to resolve his issues with Garcia in the ring, which he turned down.

“Unfortunately, the Isaac Cruz team turned down a very attractive offer,” De La Hoya said on his social media account. “More than he did with Tank.”

Cruz, a native of Mexico, recently saw his stock skyrocket following his previous trip to the ring. With Gervonta Davis in dire need of a replacement on December 5, after eliminating original rival Rolando Romero, Cruz is eager to join.

Though most expected a quick and easy night at the office for Davis, Cruz entrusted him with everything he could handle. For the first time in the heavyweight star’s career, Davis was forced to go all the way 12 laps. While he would eventually land a decisive victory almost unanimously, Garcia believes Cruz did just enough to win.

However, despite Garcia’s many praises for his rough and rough opponent, the former WBC lightweight player is hoping to make a statement of his own in stopping Cruz in their mock match. But, with De La Hoya revealing that the Cruz team has chosen to go in a different direction, the hunt for Garcia’s next opponent will continue.
