The PGA Tour The fourth and last major golf tournament of the year is upon us!

The world’s top golfers will head to Royal Liverpool Golf Club in the UK for the Open Championship, which runs from 20 to 23 July.

The 154-year-old course is known for its unique character and history. Each hole has its own name because the course is mostly level although some holes run through the sand dunes. The course has recently undergone a number of renovations, with the 17th hole changing from a par 4 to a 136-yard par 3.

The last time the Open Championship was held at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club was in 2014. Rory McIlroy won the Open that year, beating 271 points below par 17 Rickie Fowler And Sergio Garcia by two strokes.

It was also McIlroy’s last major tournament win. Since then, the Northern Irishman has been on the verge of winning a major tournament multiple times, including at last year’s Open Championship when he finished third, two strokes behind the winner. The three-time Open Championship winner won’t be playing at Royal Liverpool Golf Club when the major is onis next year ankle surgery in April. He won the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in 2006, of his three Open championships.
