It’s almost time for the next generation Kia Niro fully disclosed, and That provided a few showcase photos to help us prepare for the full event. In total, there are four images here that show us the front, rear and interior of the new car Niro in the murky darkness.
Starting from the outside, Kia tells us the exterior design originates from Habaniro concept on display at New York Auto Show a few years ago. It’s meant to look much more outdoor and adventurous than Niro focuses on the current metropolis do. The high front end, sharp lines and more dignified appearance all contribute to this style. As for other details, we’ll take a look at the new LED lighting design at both the front and rear. A small, but distinctive pattern highlights the front, while the rear lights are mounted super high and around the rear window. NS new Kia logo visible, but very little else is revealed – although Kia says it will have a two-tone bodywork. It also has very large wheels with limited wheel spacing, so even if this means looking sturdier, the Niro will most likely retain much of its urban-use focus.
And then there’s the interior. Kia’s teaser photos of the inside are perhaps even more revealing than the exterior. Kia says this design is based on a design strategy of “unifying opposites”. That means it’s a large combination of diagonal and horizontal lines that work together to create something unique in the world of car interiors. It’s similar to what we’ve seen in Kia EV6, as it has a combined dual display for the instrument cluster and touchscreen and the same curved center console design. Many important elements remain fully covered, but it is clear that the interior of the new Niro will be exponentially more interesting than the final interior.
As for the reveal itself, Kia says the endings will be made available at the Seoul Mobility Show later this week.
