It is worth noting that Skoda .’s global office confirmed Enyaq “significantly updated” by 2025, one in six completely new or refreshed battery electric vehicle models will make their international debut by the end of 2026.

Here’s everything we know so far about the brand’s upcoming EV flagship.

Line up

Skoda Australia says it has a pair of “planned variants” – Enyaq 85 And Enyaq RS.

At launch, the only option will be the Enyaq 85, which will be equipped with single-engine rear-wheel drive combined with 82kWh (77kWh usable) long range battery pack.

Australia will launch with stronger strength 210kW e-motor was recently announced for Europe and first confirmed for related Cupra Tavascanmaking it the most powerful Skoda ever in Australia – at least until the updated Enyaq RS comes out “later”.

Skoda claims the Enyaq 85 will accelerate from 0-100km/h like the Octavia RS 6.7 seconds on the way to the top speed limit of 180km/h. Furthermore, the WLTP range is listed at 570 km.

It looks like Australia will miss out on the Enyaq 85x with dual-motor four-wheel drive, quoting the same 210kW but with a time of 6.6 seconds 0-100 and a WLTP range of 550km per charge.

Torque figures have yet to be confirmed even in Skoda’s global media documents, although Mr Irmer notes that the Enyaq 85 will have “60% more” more torque than the Superb Sportline 4. ×4 with 206kW/350Nm 2.0 TSI – preliminary math suggests a torque figure of 560Nm, but the dual-motor Cupra Tavascan makes 545Nm at the rear.

Local versions will come equipped with a battery preheat function, with DC fast charging said to replenish 10-80% in “under 30 minutes” at an undisclosed rate – Tavascan cites time Same charging time with 135kW charger.

Meanwhile, the Enyaq RS is expected to be launched after the 85th version arrives, although it’s still unclear exactly which engine will power it at this stage – as the dual-engine version The current 220kW/460Nm offered overseas is also about to be upgraded.

As for the single-engine model, clues can once again be taken from the Cupra Tavascan, which offers a 250 kW dual-motor AWD powertrain with 545 Nm at the rear and 134 Nm at the front, for acceleration. 0-100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

valuation

Skoda’s local division did not give a clear indication of how the Enyaq will be priced, but Mr Irmer said “we will give the car everything”.

Mr. Irmer’s comment refers to a fully-specified, premium model; adds that “it basically matches the Kodiaq RS” – currently priced from $74,990 driving in Australia.

Talk to auto expert“All electric cars have a slightly higher upfront price,” said Mr. Irmer, referring to a “certainly solid” pricing position. [at least] several thousand dollars more” than the Kodiaq RS – $79,990 perhaps?

While such a price tag for the Enyaq 85 would easily make the Skoda EV the most expensive model ever in Australia, even before the Enyaq RS arrived, Mr Irmer was quick to point out that customers need guidance on total cost of ownership, which suggests that electric vehicle premiums are paid back “relatively quickly” under the right circumstances.

“I think it’s important now for all manufacturers that we educate our customers that the fact of paying a few thousand dollars more upfront doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a few thousand dollars more expensive because that’s important. is to consider the total cost of electric vehicle ownership, Mr. Irmer said.

“They have lower fuel costs and you have lower maintenance costs. If you combine this with a typical ownership cycle of 5, 6, 7 years – which depends a bit on distance traveled and depends on where you charge – you can get a relatively quick breakeven point if you have high mileage and charge at home with solar panels for example.”

Furthermore, Mr. Irmer said auto expert The brand’s Australian customers are “research oriented” people who focus less on sticker price and more on the value of the overall package, rather than being “discount hunters.” .

That $80,000 positioning for the Enyaq 85 would put it pretty much on par with the recently introduced product. Long Range Tesla Model Ypriced from $82,300 before on-road costs, offers a 5.0-second sprint from 0-100 seconds thanks to a more powerful dual-motor AWD electric drivetrain but low WLTP-certified range than 533 km per charge.

Other competitors include Ford Mustang Mach-E (from $79,990), Hyundai ioniq 5 (from $72,000), KIA EV6 (from $72,590), as well as related Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 not yet priced for our market.
